Puma seeks UK brand expansion with Nova partnership

Puma is to become the official sportswear and merchandise supplier for Nova International’s Great Run Series after the two companies concluded a partnership deal.

The sports company is aiming to enhance its athletics business in the UK. “This new partnership with Nova International is an important one for us, most notably for the strong brand and retail presence it offers,” said Paul Spencer, general manager Puma UK, Ireland and Benelux.

Puma will open an online store on the Great Run Series website selling limited edition Great Run footwear and apparel, while the kit will also be sold in race villages at events across the country, including the Bupa Great North Run and the National Lottery Newham London Anniversary Run.

Throughout the series, Puma will run ambassador and retail events, and offer multi-channel digital communications and PR.

The sports brand has also expanded its athlete stable in the UK, which now includes marathon runner Susan Partridge (pictured), hurdler Eilidh Child, steeplechaser James Wilkinson, 10km competitors Dewi Griffiths and Chris Thompson, and 5000m runner Nick McCormick.
